Protools HD Accell is the snooty high dallar professional version of protools: audio and midi recording, editing, mixing and mastering computer workstation hardware / software.

Plugins in this version run on dsp chips on a dedicated card installed in a slot in the host computer. This makes it the most stable platform to perform it's tasks.( less crashs )

Protools screen shot shows typical simultaneous midi and audio editing.In my opinion this is the best way to produce midi generated music as it allows me to control the feel of the music and achieve the end resulting excitement I want.I keep the midi instruments in midi and then adjust the performance, introduce tags, grooves etc.

This is a time consuming approach but it's really worth it. You end up with a real sounding performance that people will ask" are those real or midi drums?"
